K'naan has appeared once before on T.I.R.M. in our World Watch section, but with ever increasing frequency this Canadian resident that hails from Somalia is finding himself making appearances all around the US. From gigs with Mos Def who hails him as someone who "can make a song about anything" to touring with Damian Marley both in North America and Europe on his Welcome To Jamrock tour, "The Dusty Foot Philosopher" is definitely making his presence felt stateside. Recently I had the the opportunity to catch up with him during the Baltimore stop of Stephen Marley's Mind Control tour and can honestly say it was one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. Evidently the crowd in attendance agreed with me as they hung on his every word, laughing at his mention of Jah Rule: "I'm like a Jah Rule poster cuz I'm off the wall" to thunderously applauding when he stated: "If I rhyme about home and got descriptive/ I'd make 50 cent look like limp biscuit."  Ill rhymes, dope drummer, live crowd, great performance, and oh yeah The Marley's weren't too shabby either...
