The Sender presents a message of life that is to be learned over time. From the title track, you hear Median discussing how music is more than just putting words over beats. There is definitely a respect to be earned when an artist can realize that his message is a reflection of the one who sent him. With production assistance from super producer 9th Wonder and KHYRSIS, Median continues to shed light on where his thoughts have been during his hiatus and focus on life outside of music. Tracks such as "Take A Chance" featuring fellow FE Music artist, Phonte, and "Open My Thoughts" are examples of how this brother has taken a new approach to insight and releasing emotions. The delivery is genuine; one would almost believe they were in the mind of the artist while he was developing them. "Turn Ya On" and "Special" are considerably the tracks that give you the laid back and ride out feel. The zone out factor for these two songs are on high. Both songs also feature Phonte, as well as Yahzarah and Bahamadia (for "Special"). The motive here? It is to draw you in and make you listen. Easily the two favorites on this album between delivery and beat production, these tracks are at the top of the list for the album. It is safe to say that this album was well put together. Track after track, Median produces bars. Period.
This album is full of amazing production, an awesome team as a support system, and just an overall good person presented to an audience of music lovers alike. Is it eligible to enter the list of classic albums? Not quite yet. Now that Median is back in the game, he has room to grow a bit. He definitely re-established his place with this project which is an excellent look. In looking forward to more stories, a little more life, and an even stronger delivery from him, one can bet that Median isn't going to just leave music lovers behind. Now that the story has been told on behalf of The Sender, will you receive it? Hope so. There's something good in there for you. Promise.
