"Zone Out" kicks the project off strong, with a combination of Big Pooh's upfront rap style and the "chilled" production. It makes you want to see what the rest of the project has in store. He delivers the message that people can say whatever they want about his music, but he will still do what he does. Tracks like "State of Union" stand out because of its' substance. He and T3 from Slum Village (who is featured in the track), express the feelings that most often are about hopes of reaching the youth. A favorite of mine is "Fortune and Fame", it explains the truth behind the fabulous life of a rapper, particularly when they are away from home and family for long periods of time. Tracks like "Wooden Wall Silver" are "lyrically dope". Rapper Big Pooh has numerous collaborations on this project, varying from artist like T3 to Kendrick Lamar and Joe Scudda. Although the features assist the album, some of the tracks have Big Pooh being out-shined.
Overall Fat Boy Fresh Vol. 1: For Members Only is a good body of music. If you are a fan of Little Brother it may not be exactly what you expect but it is still worth a listen. Add this to your music playlist and support this artist.
