Les Nubians are an artistic duo of sultry sisters often referenced by their 1999 hit single, Makeda. Yet these princesses nubiennes are unique for singing melodies in their native tongue when collaborating with a number of respected artists, namely in hip hop. In their current release, Nü Revolution, freedom (Afrodance), reformation (Fraicheu Souhaitee) and love (Je'Men Occupe) are all highlighted subject matter in their lyrics. Although the album, like most of their discography, is recorded primarily in French, the potential fan should not be dismayed. Their musical message is eloquently ridden with clues for the English listener, complemented with delightful harmonies, and made complete with solid production.
