Oneirology is more than hip hop. It's rock, it's techno and everything in between. The only thing that distiguishes it from other albums that attempt to take the similar route is that the Cunninlynguists got it right. The "Predormitum (Prologue)" immediately sets the tone for the album. Dark and grand. "Darkness" one of my favorite tracks on the album is night-time hip hop in its purest form as they talk about darkness as a state of being. Anna Wise of Sonnymoon is a treasure on this. But by no means does the production rule the album. Deacon the Villain and Kno are definitely top notch lyricists and show their skills on songs like "My Habit". Other dope tracks include "Hard As They Come", "Shattered Dreams", "Enemies With Benefits", and "Looking Back". The features are kept close knit with Anna Wise of Sonnymoon, Freddie Gibbs, Big K.R.I.T. , Tonedeff, Tunji, The Chicago Kid and Bianca Floyd.
Overall, this album is a must have. It's definitely a breath of fresh air. Their sound borders that of Outkast, Cee-Lo Green and other atypical southern rappers. Check out Oneirology and support the artist.
