Every few weeks I hear a Hip Hop album that reminds me why I love Hip Hop. It's that time again as Venomous 2000 and DJ Priority hold nothing back on this new offering, Fresh Amazingly, that I can only describe as "Hip Hop in it's purest form". The overall sound of the album alone lets you know what you are in for. There's a "Golden Era" feel on the production side; a lot of soul samples and such. But Venomous 2000 delivers supercharged lyrics that bring you right back to the present. One can tell that a lot of love went into this album; and by that I mean love for Hip Hop. A rememberance of a time when it was about skills, storytelling, dope beats and having fun. Thats what I get from this in some of my favorite tracks:"The Takeoff", "Five On The Black Hand Side", "Where Have You Gone", "Amazingly Fresh" and the lead single "Soul Sensation" featuring M. Josephine. But don't get it twisted; this is definitely one of those records you can listen to all the way through. Venomous 2000 and DJ Priority are a rare breed of artists functioning under the radar and impactfully keeping Hip Hop grounded.
