Lupe still commands a knack for social commentary but any interesting bars drown in the trancy, compressed warbles of a few 'hot' singers and producers. Like a cut-and-paste posthumous Lupe Fiasco mixtape handled by dollar-eyed devils. Note the cruel irony found in the track "State Run Radio".
"All Black Everything" is the only track which stands up to the releases from artists we used to consider as Lupe's peers. Still unsure of the full details its difficult to take this release seriously. If the rumours are true its a real shame. Shame on the record label. Shame on the producers. Shame on the contributing artists.
If you're looking for an example of how out of touch and desperate record labels are then this is fine. Otherwise don't part with any money until you read up on what's really going on - your research will at the very least be much more interesting and honest than this release.
