The album starts off with Zo showcasing his most recognizable talent, the piano. The smooth grove of the instrumentals leads to the first track "Greater Than the Sun" featuring Phonte, formerly of Little Brother and lead singer for The Foreign Exchange. The little reminder that life's pleasures, and even hardships, are minute because tomorrow brings a new day: "You can laugh if you like, you can cry if you want, but you must realize, there's nothing greater than the sun..." The album continues to now take you on journey through eargasms with tracks such as "Say How You Feel', "Free Your Mind", and "Flight of the Blackbyrd". Features on this album include: Sy Smith, Eric Roberson, Darien Brockington, YahZarah, Carlitta Durand, Lady Alma, and Chantae Cann.
Two of my favorite tracks on this album are "For Leslie" and "MakeLuv2Me" feat. Monica Blaire. In the song "For Leslie", Zo! gives us an experience of pure, unadulterated beauty in instrumental form. Its forces the listener to imagine things beyond circumstances, to envision release from human barriers, and encounter beauty in simplest form, love. "MakeLuv2Me" is an expression of said love. It is purposeful with the intent to exhibit intimacy. The desire to encompass yourself with your partner and make magic is felt not only through the music, but the lyrics as well. This track is definitely for those who are in love or want to know what it feels like to be adored.
I see why they call him the "Musical Architect". The way that Zo! was able to construct this masterpiece from beginning to end is genius. From the artists he picked for each song, to the instrumentals he played, to the lyrics, to the flow of the album...everything about this album says "beautiful". If this is the foundation of his future, I'm looking forward to whatever else he is going to build.
