Classic story: Boy meets girl. Boy and girl fall in love. Boy break girl's heart. Girl tries to walk way but can't. Its that up and down, the thrill of this whole love thing that makes it all worth while sometimes. Its also that thing that draws us to a person, no matter how many times we walk away. She & Him do an excellent job of showing this type of classic "i'm going to try hard and not let you back in" story in their song "Take It Back" off their album Volume 1 (2008). The first time I heard this song, my heart smiled...not so much because of the lyrics, but more for the beautiful instrumentation that accompanied the song. Its lightweight, heartfelt, and innocent. The melody...it gets me every time.
