I've been a die-hard Prince fan since my introduction to Purple Rain at the tender age of four years old. I remember dancing around to Let's Go Crazy like it was yesterday, one of many stellar singles he released during that time. Although I am not as familiar with his musical contributions on the other side of 1999, my musical adoration of the Purple Yoda (as he affectionately calls himself) is re-invigorated with his newest release, 20Ten. It is a Purple Rain reincarnation with sprinkles of his trademark choppy rhythms (Compassion), enchanting mysticism (Sea of Everything), and sensual appeal (Sticky Like Glue). Prince also took advantage of the album being offered as an addition to certain UK publications and addresses social issues on Act of God. 20Ten was recorded at Prince's own Paisley Park studios, and is not currently being offered in print or as a digital download. It is Prince doing what he does best and he has been quoted as saying that the album is a personal diary of this year, heightening the overall appeal to take a listen.
