New Orleans emcee Curren$y brings us his new album Pilot Talk. The album provides listeners with a summer time soundtrack. Producer Ski Beats covers most of the production of the album, which includes the use of live instruments. With that production and Curren$y’s lyrics, you will feel like you are at a concert once you press play. The album starts off with Example, a song that foreshadows what you will from the rest of the songs. He gives lyrics that will have you envisioning what he says. In Seat, Curren$y is joined by California emcee Snoop Dog for a “feel good” type song. It wouldn’t be Curren$y if there wasn’t a seemingly “weed” song in Roasted, where he is joined by his Taylor Gang family Trademark and Young Roddy. The song I enjoyed was The Day, because it composed of some great production and the combination of Jay Electronica & Mos Def. Life Under The Scope ends the album off on a personal note, as he raps about his life so far. There are a lot of collaborations that assist Curren$y on the album like Snoop Dog, Devin the Dude, Jay Electronica, Mos Def, Trademark, and others. Overall this is a good summer album, and would be good addition to your playlist. Check out Pilot Talk today!
