Brooklyn based poet Caits Meissner returns again with her second EP entitled The Wolf & Me. The overall tone of this EP is dark and soulful. She delivers passion behind each of the pieces she recites in each track. The tone is set from the opening, Intro: op. 67 instructions, where she opens with a spiritual interpretation of discovery in one self. Throughout the EP it builds up keeping us intrigued the whole time. In Blackest Blood, you get eased in with the neosoul vibe she brings in her singing. The vibe is the perfect combination when she begins to go into her spoken word, because she gives listeners a story that you can visualize. The production does a great job increasing the expression of each track. Tracks like Facing wind (feat. Dunce Apprentice & Maya Azucena),which was personal favorite, will have imagining you are in the environment she describes. The EP finishes with Something Greater Than Us, which ends off with the same intensity and neosoul vibe that is delivered throughout the entire EP. She incorporates different elements into this project that will have you wanting to hear a bit more from her. It is an excellent choice for those who are fans of spoken word. Check out The Wolf & Me today.
