Janelle Monae
The ArchAndroid

High quality: Better than about 95% of other albums being released.
4.0
Janelle Monae' is back and she has taken it to the next level. She is fearless and controls the entire album. Upbeat tracks like 'Cold War' and 'Tightrope' show her trendy, party style, while a few feel good tracks like 'Oh Maker', 'Neon Valley Street' and 'Wandaland' slow life down a bit. The features on the album are minimal with Big Boi, Saul Williams, Deep Cotton and Of Montreal. Production is electric and poppy, with hip hop and soul elements. Did I mention that her influences are clear and can be heard throughout several tracks on the album as well; (e.g. Michael Jackson, Outkast).
Overall The ArchAndroid is a fun album; trippy, mysterious and energetic. Janelle Monae' is the student who has definitely become the teacher on this one. Hopefully, the world will appreciate her contribution as she may be in the race for album of the year. Yea I said it. Support her and grab a copy.
