Coming across this album was one of the highlights of my day. It's a compilation consisting of various artists that are signed to retro music stalwart Daptone Records. About half of the album consists of instrumentals that are either Jazz or blues based. You may recognize one of the instrumentals already, as it was used by Jay-Z for the song "Roc Boys". The other half of the collection consists of songs that acould be categorized as retro-soul, folk, or funk. The artists that appear on it include: Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, The Budos Band, Sugarman 3 and Bob & Gene. A great addition to any real music lovers collection.
