Barack Obama's Speech To Young America & Music

We usually stay away from all things politically at T.I.R.M unless of course, it somehow involves music. While listening to Barack Obama speak to schools across the nation I thought to myself: wow, what a great speech, why wouldn't anybody want their child to hear this. While pondering that question, another quickly came to mind. What would happen if parents were always this involved in what their children listened to?
It's obvious from listening to those that commented on the speech negatively as well as positively, that we all felt that a single speech from the President could either help or hurt a child. If that is indeed the case, why aren't we more diligent about what our children hear on daily basis? Why is that we don't insist that our children listen to Blackstar's "Thieves in The Night" or Lauryn Hill's "Freedom Time"? Why is that we don't shield or children from the music of Lil' Wayne or Souljaboy? Words are very powerful, they can heal or hurt, build or destroy, uplift or demean, educate or spread ignorance.
