I first heard Ledisi last year via an online clip of her singing “Today” from her Lost And Found album live at a Circuit City. She sounded amazing. One could only imagine my excitement when I heard about this new project. The title says it all as the songstress goes hard with upbeat love ballads and some groovy life tracks. I definitely hear a hint of Patti LaBelle and Chaka Khan’s influences in her. Nonetheless, this album is straight from her heart and soul. This is grown folk music at its best.
