We first met Maya Azucena this past spring at the Black Lily Film and Music Festival in Philadelphia.  She tore down the house at a Wetlands-styled jam session held at Silk City that was reminiscent of the Black Lily’s glory days when headliners like The Jazzyfatnastees, Jaguar Wright, and Jill Scott used to bless the stage and vibe off the house band.  During her energized performance, Maya was able to win over the crowd with her powerful voice and electrifying stage presence.
