Both Ivy League educated (yes they graduated) these young men have took it upon themselves to attack the rap game just as that, educated black men. They took the formula that got Kanye in the door and perfected it, killer lyrics, hot beats, great delivery and charisma.
The first offering from the duo, (I say first because hopefully it will be the first of many.) is more than solid, with both carrying there weight equally, with lyrics and delivery. They both sound like seasoned vets rather than first timers, the album is also well put together, not a single popish, radio song anywhere in site. If there is any flaw with the body of work it's the times when they sound like they're trying to imitate Kanye, which is definitely not necessary as both are better emcees than there Chicago brethren flow wise and lyrically.
My favorite line from the album: "Some work for change, others work for change, chase dreams till the last drop drips out their veins."
From the opening track “Ritalin” they set the tone and never let up, they hit damn near every relevant subject women, drugs, education, money, self esteem, capitalism, hypocrisy and the list goes on.
Stand out track include, “Dumbass Tales”, “Don't Stop”, (which just happens to be the same track that Jay-Z rock over on “Show Me What You Got”, just for the record their album dropped first) “Move On Up”, “Hypocrite” and “Wheelz Fall Off”.
Definitely a must have for real hip-hop lovers.
