Lyrical, political, socially conscious, revolutionary, all words that have been used to describe the ground breaking duo. We had the privilege to put Stic.Man, one half of Dead Prez, through our 10 questions drill and here are the results.

1.How did DPZ as a group come about?
Stic: We met in Tallahassee FL in 92

2.I know DPZ works a lot with the black community, is there anything in particular that you guys are working on that you want us to know about?
Stic: Promoting holistic health in the hood, revolutionary political education, becoming independent/entrepreneurs, developing fatherhood/familyhood, promoting true empowerment in our communities. Check Orgz. like UHURU MOVEMENT, MALCOLM X GRASS ROOTS MOVEMENT, THE POCC and others for things you can do.

3.What has been your best/proudest moment as an emcee?
Stic: 20 yrs. of doing it how I want to do it, traveling to Afrika and around the world performing for hundreds of thousands. Learning from, recording and performing with some of the best from Krs-One to Jay-Z! and starting my own company BOSS UP INC and WWW.BOSSUPBU.COM

4.What makes you want to take the independent route which appears to be harder than just signing with a major label?
Stic: Garvey said do for self, Malcolm said do for self. These crackers want to pimp and censor you; so we do for self

5.What made you write this book?
Stic: 20 yrs. of experience. Wanting to document our culture in our own words and give useful info and inspiration to the new breed of emcees and artists coming forward.

6.What was it like participating in Dave Chappelle's Block Party?
Stic: It was fun, we had a ball. It was well organized. Dave is a genuine brother and funny as a mug!

7.How important do you think work ethic and discipline are in determining success as an artist or any other profession?
Stic: They are essential. No work, No eat. No grind, No shine.

8.What do you think about the current state of hip-hop?
Stic: The current state of hip-hop is economically fertile ground and over ripe for community control and empowerment if we take the initiatives to control it.

9.Who are your top 5 emcees of all time?
Stic: 2Pac

10.What's next for you as an individual and DPZ as a group?
Stic: A new movie Feb. 2007 Starring me, a new album Oct.3rd Soldier 2 Soldier with me and Young Noble, new videos for "Runaway Slave" and "I Believe", Krs-One- Dead Prez live dvd, new exclusives at bossup.com.
